Il tema delle intemperie non evoca solo la furia degli elementi atmosferici, ma descrive perfettamente la condizione esistenziale dello spaesamento, della migrazione e del mutamento. Di fronte alle tempeste della vita e agli spostamenti – geografici, culturali o intimi – l’essere umano avverte il bisogno primordiale di trovare un punto di ancoraggio.
EX MEMORIA nasce da questa urgenza: concepire l’arte e il design come elementi simbolici in cui riconoscersi. Nella migrazione, l'individuo si spoglia del superfluo ma custodisce un "bagaglio invisibile" fatto di oggetti, frammenti e ricordi che diventano bussole identitarie. Il progetto trasforma questa memoria fluttuante in materia solida, offrendo un porto sicuro in cui ripararsi dalle intemperie del tempo e dell'oblio.
The theme of bad weather not only evokes the fury of atmospheric elements, but also perfectly describes the existential condition of disorientation, migration, and change. Faced with life's storms and displacements—geographical, cultural, or intimate—humans feel a primal need to find a place to anchor themselves.
EX MEMORIA stems from this urgency: to conceive of art and design as symbolic elements with which to identify. In migration, individuals shed the superfluous but retain an "invisible baggage" of objects, fragments, and memories that become compasses of identity. The project transforms this fluctuating memory into solid matter, offering a safe haven from the ravages of time and oblivion.
Questa visione si traduce in una collezione di arredi dalle strutture geometriche e primitive, dalle linee pure e minimali concepite per trasmettere un senso di stabilità e accoglienza arcaica. Realizzati in legno di cedro o abete per volontà di utilizzare essenze vive e resistenti alle intemperie reali, capaci di profumare di resina e natura, legando così l'oggetto ai sensi.
Su questi volumi puliti vengono innestate lastre metalliche lavorate artigianalmente a sbalzo, creando un contrasto poetico e materico tra il calore del legno e la fredda lucentezza del metallo. Attraverso la deformazione plastica dello sbalzo, la superficie metallica accoglie e fissa per sempre le forme di oggetti quotidiani o simbolici. Queste sagome diventano un'iconografia della memoria, archetipi che custodiscono e tramandano una testimonianza personale o collettiva, trasformando ogni arredo in un vero e proprio archivio visivo delle comunità migranti e stanziali.
This vision translates into a collection of furnishings with primitive, geometric structures and pure, minimalist lines, designed to convey a sense of stability and archaic warmth. Crafted from cedar or fir, these living woods are resistant to real weather, exuding the scent of resin and nature, connecting the object to the senses.
Handcrafted embossed metal sheets are grafted onto these clean volumes, creating a poetic and material contrast between the warmth of the wood and the cool sheen of the metal. Through the plastic deformation of the embossment, the metal surface embraces and forever captures the forms of everyday or symbolic objects. These silhouettes become an iconography of memory, archetypes that preserve and transmit a personal or collective testimony, transforming each piece of furniture into a true visual archive of migrant and sedentary communities.
